Welcome to the Asian Art Gallery website, our most recent venture, launched to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the opening of the gallery in Duke Street, St James'.
Established since 1996 by director Christopher Bruckner, we are specialist dealers in art from east and south Asia, primarily Chinese imperial art and Buddhist art from the Himalayan region. The scope of our collection reflects the diverse interests of Christopher, who first came into the business through his own passion for collecting.
Browsing through our site you will encounter painting, furniture, sculpture, textiles cloisonné, lacquer, and porcelain, predominantly made for or by order of the Yuan, Ming and Qing imperial courts. Tibetan religious art and its influence on Chinese culture are also of particular interest to our gallery.
As well as inviting you to view a selection of rare, or in many cases unique, objects from the collection, we hope to encourage a sharing of knowledge and discussion about subjects in the Asian art field. In our research section we will publish articles of current study from a variety of scholarly and expert sources, some of which will relate to items from the illustrated collection.
In 2005 Christopher Bruckner was joined by Chinese speaking Gallery Manager Zoe Smith.
